Office Hours

The Spice office is open between the hours of 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday. Quite often there is someone here after hours and there is also a 24 hour answerphone. In the event of a real emergency, try the mobile 07899 950109, but do try the office first, as we try to monitor messages coming in out of hours and will often be able to call straight back in an emergency.

How To Join Spice

If you’ve had an enquiry pack, simply complete and return the membership form along with your credit card details, cheque or completed direct debit mandate. Alternatively, just telephone the Spice office and we’ll complete all the paperwork for you over the phone. You may also join on- line at www.spiceuk.com

Booking Onto Events

Send your completed booking form along with your cheque or credit card details (if you’ve used your form, a scribbled note of what you want to book will suffice. Alternatively, fax your form with credit card details on 0121 353 6861 or telephone the Spice office with your credit card and we’ll book events for you over the phone.

A secure booking service is also available on-line through this web site.

Please note: Bookings are only secure when payment has been received. You may lose your slot if another member wishes to book whilst your cheque is in the post.

Never simply ‘turn up’ at a Spice event as this is unfair to those who have taken the time to book and it may mean a wasted journey if we cannot accommodate you.

Late Bookings

We often have slots available at the last minute due to cancellations etc. Please call for details and be ready to pay by credit card to secure your place. Many events do sell out so the best advice is to book early to avoid disappointment.

Confirmation of Bookings

We do not normally confirm your bookings. We will contact you if there is a problem with your form or if the event is full or has been cancelled. If you do require confirmation, please contact the office or enclose a SAE with your booking form.

Where the location of an event is marked with a #, we will be sending out directions, maps, kit list and transport share lists around 7 days prior.

If You Can’t Make It To An Event:

It is absolutely vital that you contact the Spice office if you realise that you cannot make an event. This is important for several reasons. Firstly, other members may be left waiting for you to arrive and this is obviously unfair.

Secondly, ‘team’ type events such as sports evenings may need adjusting for even team numbers etc. Finally, if you let us know you cannot attend we may be able to issue a refund depending on the type of event. See the Spice Cancellation Policy.

Guest Policy

Guests are welcome on all Spice Events. We sometimes ask guests to pay a guest fee in addition to the price of the event details appear in the event write-ups. You may only book guests onto an event after the 10th of the month, as members must obviously have priority in booking available slots. We ask that guests only attend 3 events, after which time we expect them to join in the long run this can work out cheaper as they avoid paying premiums!

Transport Share

We are always happy to do our best to link up members for travel share. Please remember to indicate on your form should you require a lift or be willing to offer or share transport. There is also a box to tick if you wish your details to be kept confidential. We will then send out a transport share list with your event details, or if the event is local, just call about 48 hours before the event and we’ll give you the telephone numbers of possible links.
