You don’t have to go away on a ski trip to get that “apres ski” experience! Tonight we have an hour or so of “play time” followed by food & merriment at this centre. We’ll be split into 2 groups and spend time on the toboggan run (you should get at least 2 runs in) and tubing down the dry ski slope. By 7.30pm we should have worked up an appetite to spend the rest of the night in The Alpine Lodge where we’ll enjoy a wonderful alpine fondue feast and a well stocked bar till 10.30. It’s a fun, sociable event that you really can’t miss!

The Tobogganing: The Alpine Toboggan Run makes a breath taking 650m descent, winding and twisting its way around and under the ski slope and the only thing in control of your speed is gravity and you!

The Tubing: We hurtle down the ski slope on huge rubber tubes. It’s crazy, it’s out of control .. and you will laugh - lots!

The Fondue: After all this fun, we'll move onto the apres ski.  On the tables will be pork, beef and cheese fondues. We can try a little of each. There are also chips, salad, French bread and tasty dips. Dessert of the day is also included.

FEEDBACK

● “What a super evening I had for my first Spice outing.  I laughed and laughed, the evening from beginning to end was such a tonic!  There were several first timers who together with the seasoned Spice members made the evening very relaxed and I felt very welcome.  Simon was a super host, and the whole evening was superb value for money.  There was more food than we could eat and the tubing was brilliant fun, made all the more enjoyable by our South African leader and tube spinner.  I whizzed and spun down that slope laughing all the way :D .   Thank you so much for encouraging me to go.  I am very grateful and I'm scouring the up and coming events for more things to book into”

● “The toboggan and fondue night was really good. The joining instructions were spot on and the host made everyone feel welcome.  The tubing element was particularly good.  I would certainly I to do more similar events”

● “After the fear of looking over the slope and thinking omg what have I done am I really tubing down that... well I had a great laugh the toboggan was a doddle so took your advise and kept the break off.. The tubing was a tad more scary but was quite thrilling, my trouble was getting back up the hill after as I am quite unfit haha.. That said great night was had, fondue was very sociable and nice touch. I met some lovely new members which was a bargain too”

● “It was a good night out – it was great being able to behave like a big child and have some fun. We were looked after very well by the centre’s staff and our host Simon. The fondue and food sharing is very social and it’s a very chatty and get to know each other event. Great value for money”

● “The tubing was such a good ice breaker - had such a good laugh with everyone that I met, didn't stop laughing all night, by the end my cheeks hurt from smiling so much and I nearly lost my voice from chatting and laughing. So needed a great night out like that, can fully recommend it”

● “I was a bit nervous when I first arrived, but the host was super friendly upon arrival - really lovely lady, appreciated her bubbly meet and greet. We did the tubing first, what a great giggle that was. Fun and uplifting without being scary - any age could enjoy it. Although I was relieved I didn't go to the gym before hand as it was quite a work out running back up the slope as quick as we could to fit in as many runs as possible within the allotted time. It was a little taxing on the more senior participants - but they still loved it. My calves are still aching, so you get a good workout into the bargain. We then switched to tobogganing - tried my best not to brake all the way round, but lost my nerve and braked a tiny bit. The view from the top of the slope was really good and the beauty was emphasised by the sunset, anyone going on this event, do take a few moments time to look around and take in the distant view. We had sufficient time doing both tubing and tobogganing and the meal was welcome at the end having worked up quite an appetite. What a feast we had laid out before us, it was deelish. You would never have believed there were only two young ladies serving us, they were quite amazingly efficient, so polite and nothing was too much. They even managed to get us a mulled wine which was perfect....just the right temperature, spicy and full of flavour, one of the best I've ever had. Please do pass on my thanks and compliments to them and their boss, they were an absolute credit to business. There were three pudding options, dime bar cake, lemon desert and a waffle and ice cream. I chose the waffle and ice cream - it really wasn't very nice, so my advice - chose one of the other deserts. If you can, leave your car at home - I so could have had a few drinks. All round a great fun and sociable night out. Met a really fun bunch of people and swapped numbers with some. I highly recommend this event, great way to make new friends and was an excuse to behave like a big kid - loved it”

● “Enjoyed both parts - tobogganing seemed pretty tame on the first run as everyone obeyed the breaking signs but we soon learnt that we didn't need to be so strict & had a lot more fun going faster! The food was plentiful and they catered very well for my gluten free diet, providing gf bread rolls in lieu of the baguettes and fries instead of wedges. + a g free option for dessert. Very impressed! Not sure what numbers can go up to but think that 20 odd is just right as we got 4 goes on toboggan & plenty of goes tubing - this helped make the event seem great value for money which it might not have done had we only had a few goes at each”

● “A good value evening full of activity. The fondue was not available but the raclette provided us with fun cooking it all, and so much food we couldn't finish everything!”
