Join us in this historic location for a fantastic opportunity to have a go at creating your own mosaic bird or heart (the choice is yours)

During this half day workshop, you will make a beautiful bird hanger/heart using vintage crockery pieces and glass with various effects.

Sarah will demonstrate how to safely use the tools and equipment, to cut and shape the crockery and glass. Then you can pick the colours and design the hanger. Sarah will talk you through the mosaicing process from designing, arranging, gluing and grouting.

The course is held at Glass Quarter Designs, a glass studio on the site of the Red House Glass Cone, near Stourbridge in the heart of the glass quarter. The Red House Glass Cone is set on the canal side, and there are several craft studios to explore. You can spend some time looking around the site and glass blowing demonstrations are held on weekend afternoons.

There is also a coffee shop on site but refreshments will be provided.

The price includes all materials, instruction and your own unique, hand-made Mosaic bird.

FEEDBACK

The mosaic making workshop was really good.  I haven't done any craft stuff before and just wanted to try something new.  It was a small group but this worked really well, as we all had individual attention, as required.  Sarah made us all feel really welcome and explained what we needed to do, though we had complete freedom with the design and didn't feel rushed in any way.  I didn't think I would be able to do anything like this but was surprised at the results and am really looking forward to seeing the finished piece.  All in all, it was a brilliant workshop and a lovely way to spend a cold Sunday morning!

It was a great opportunity to try something new and creative. Sarah, the teacher, was encouraging and patient.

The description of the activity was that we were going to make a mosaic bird, which put me off the workshop but I was persuaded to attend by a friend. I was really pleased therefore to find out there were other options when I arrived. I ended up making a mosaic heart which I much preferred.
