Starting from the village of Hartington, famous for the cheese, first descend to cross the River Dove into Staffordshire then we head to the hamlet of Sheen with the impressive church, the site dating back to 1158. Over to Brund to cross the infant River Manifold, turning south to Hulme End and the cafe at the end of the Manifold railway for a lunch stop, heading back to the start via the Raikes and River Dove.
