Note: Sorry this is slightly more expensive than the bauble workshop as Charlotte wants to max number to be just 6 rather 10.

Join us once more in this historic location for a fantastic opportunity to become a glass-blower!

The very room where this half day workshop takes place in where every piece of glass used on the Titanic was made! It is the “holy of holies” for glass enthusiasts! Our tutor, Charlotte Hughes-Martin is also well known, being a highly respected glass artist and the Artist in Residence at Red House Cone.

We will learn how to create the colours we want for our paperweights – with a rainbow of choices available to you, you can have a go at spots, swirls, stripes or something more unusual!

Whatever you decide, your paperweight will be totally unique and an indication of your character and personality.

The price includes all materials, instruction and your own unique, hand-made paperweight. As the glass will need to cool overnight, they will not be available to take home on the day. You can either arrange to collect or have them posted out for a small charge, before they take up the pride of place on any mantelpiece!

We’ll also learn the basic skills of glass-blowing so that we can blow our own creation under Charlottes close supervision - no doubt taking lots of photos of each other as we each take up the challenge!

Please note: It can get chilly so please dress in warm layers.

The price includes all materials, instruction and your own unique, hand-made bauble. As the baubles will need to cool overnight, they will not be available to take home on the day. You can arrange to collect them in time for the all-important hanging on your Christmas tree!

FEEDBACK

● “This was a great event, I thoroughly enjoyed it and think everyone else did too.  Charlotte was brilliant, although I think she must be sick of the sight of baubles!  She was so patient and made it such a fun event, I would definitely recommend it to anyone”

Absolutely fantastic event.  Sense of achievement was great even though Charlotte had to assist all of us.  She was relaxed, funny and yet very professional.

Jackie, our volunteer co-ordinator, was also very good.  She was very friendly and took loads of photos/videos for everyone.

I will definitely be looking out for this or other "glass" events next year.

I really enjoyed the glass blowing workshop.  Charlotte was brilliant - she made everyone feel at ease and kept us all laughing throughout.  I've been to two workshops at their studio and would not hesitate to book onto any other workshops they run.

The bauble blowing was a great event. Well situated with good parking.

Charlotte was amazing, funny and knowledgable. She put us all at ease straight away as everyone was a bit nervous.

The session went well, we were given time slots so was able to wonder around if we wanted while waiting for your turn. However a lot of us watched all the baubles being made as it was interesting to watch.

It was really cold in there so perhaps that could be mentioned on the write up as a lot of us thought it would be quite hot due to the furnaces. Collection of the finished bauble was easy and well organised. I would definitely book again and am also hoping we can book other sessions with them too xx

I really enjoyed the glass blowing workshop and have a lovely Christmas bauble ! I thought it was good value for money. The coordinator made us very welcome and Charlotte made the whole event fun.

I wanted to let you know that the glass blowing experience was fantastic! Everyone turned up and I think everyone enjoyed it immensely! The lady (Charlotte) was so funny and made it really fun... I did the experience last year in Bath and have to say that the Bath experience was really not that good in comparison!

Looking forward to picking up my creation tomorrow!

Lovely lady, well organised, really great fun. Good introduction and she was there to help at every step, got to chose your own colour of bauble and style. Really very good fun. Would recommend though as great fun doing it.

Glass blowing was fantastic, Charlotte who taught us was really good, she explained everything in understandable terms which was good.   It was cold inside the cone but once you got near to the furnace you soon warmed up.  Actually watching your bauble take shape was amazing, to be able to make something so beautiful from what started out as a liquid, I can’t wait to have another go.  Many thanks
